Vesta Images – Vesta global mosaic (survey orbit)

Vesta global mosaic (survey orbit)
Mosaics of Vesta images obtained during the survey phase of the mission. The images used were obtained on August 20, 2011 from a distance of about 3000 km. Each mosaic is created from 17 sets of source images that have been draped over a shape model of Vesta. The processing is similar to what was described in the caption for the preceding set of images (the RC3 mosaic). The color processing in the false color image differs a bit though. This is the reason the colors in the false color image on this pagse differs from the colors in the false color image on the preceding page.
